On July 23, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the Union Budget 2024-25 in Parliament.

4. The standard deduction under the new tax regime has been enhanced from Rs 30,000 to Rs 75,000, saving Rs 17,500. Additionally, the deduction on family pension for pensioners has been increased from Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000.
5. The securities transaction tax (STT) on option sales has been increased from 0.0625% to 0.1%. Furthermore, the STT for futures and options (F&O) securities has increased by 0.02% and 0.1%, respectively.
6. TDS on e-commerce cut to 0.1 percent from 1 percent
