Hippie Movement began with the 'Summer Of Love' where youth gathered in masses in San Francisco to choose peace, love, freedom, spirituality & commune living.

Anti-war activism was in rise after the Vietnam war escalation. Hippie culture embraced radical self-expression & humanitarianism over mainstream materialism, rigid social norms & religion.

Psychedelic posters and art added vividity to their revolution. Tie-dye, Bell Bottoms, long hair & Indian inspired clothing were major part of this culture.

LSD & Marijuana were heavily used by the Hippies. These experimentations were believed to expand the consciousness & embrace something more than ego.

India became a beacon of mystic culture & spiritual practices. In 1968, The Beatles visited India to study meditation, making headlines.

Founded by A. C. Bhativedanta Swami Prabhupada in 1966 in NYC, it attracted many hippies. They adopted disciplined & vegetarian lifestyle, replacing drugs with a more open & loving path to God.

Osho's Pune Ashram served many seeking spirituality with a blend of materialism as a part of it. His radical freedom & self-expression ideas gained him worldwide popularity.

The hippie movement didn't go extinct, it rather evolved. its spirit now lives on Yoga & Wellness culture, Festivals like the Burning man & Eco-activism. The flowers didn't fade, they blossomed.
