In a significant boost to the Indian armed forces, 343 young officers from the IMA were commissioned into the mainstream army today
In a grand ceremony marked by tradition and prestige, these officers took the oath to serve the nation with valor and integrity.
Dr. Shavendra Silva, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of Sri Lanka, led the salute during the Passing Out Parade, a highlight of military tradition.
This international recognition emphasised the close defence ties that exist between Sri Lanka and India.
The IMA, which is well-known for its demanding curriculum and rich past, recently honoured 29 cadets from friendly foreign countries with graduations.
There were extensive security protocols in place both within and outside the academy.
The parade started at eight in the morning in Drill Square, with the historic Chetwode Building serving as a backdrop and a reminder of the academy's rich history.
After the parade, there was a Piping Ceremony, which is an important military tradition that signifies the cadets' conversion to commissioned officers.
The ceremony demonstrated the academy's commitment to excellence in addition to the cadets' diligence and hard work.
