Have a Look At The Part Of Pandit Nehru’s Speech That PM Modi Mentioned In His Address

Prime Minister Modi was to reply the Motion of Thanks on the President Murmu’s address in Lok Sabha.

PM Modi in his speech targeted the opposition but in a rather sarcastic way.

He said, “The Opposition has resolved to stay in opposition..."

During his address he also reiterated some of the lines said by former Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru

Before reading Pandit Nehru’s statement, PM Modi said, “Congress never trusted the capabilities of Indians. They have always thought of themselves as rulers and undermined public of the nation.”

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was addressing Indians on 15th of August from the historical Red Fort, Delhi when he said these words.

Pandit Nehru stated, “In India, people generally do not work very hard. We do not work as hard as people of Europe, Japan, China, Russia or even America…”

After reading the statement, PM Modi said, "Nehru ji thought that Indians are lazy and people of less intelligence..."
