For the COP28 summit, a pivotal issue on the agenda is "loss and damage'.

World leaders are gathering in Dubai to discuss the agenda.

"Loss and damage' looks at the devastating effects of climate-related disasters that surpass the ability of nations to adapt or recover financially.

Loss and damage are not just theoretical concerns; they represent tangible devastations such as the destruction of infrastructure and irreversible damage to ecosystems.

It is highly mandatory to discuss the issue as impact on low-income countries, which cause less global emissions yet bear the brunt of climate change consequences.

The summit aims to finalise the structure of a "loss and damage" fund, a concept agreed upon during COP27.

This fund is intended to support low-income countries in managing the costs associated with climate-related damages.

COP28 will focus on three main pillars: industrial decarbonisation, accelerating the green energy transition, and innovation for climate action.

High-income countries must take the responsibility of emitting majority of greenhouse gases and aid nations facing consequences of climate change.
