India is home to 75% of the world's tiger population  with over 3 000 tigers dispersed throughout 53 tiger reserves within the nation. Here are five locations across the nation where there is a greater likelihood of seeing tigers.

Jim Corbett National Park  Uttarakhand

Established in 1936  Jim Corbett is the country's oldest national park. Nestled amid dense forests the park is home to over 200 tigers.

Ranthambore National Park  Rajasthan

One of India's most famed national parks for tiger spotting  the Ranthambore National Park is also home to leopards  jungle cats  sloth bears  and hyenas  among others.

Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve  Maharashtra

Also known as 'The Jewel of Vidarbha'  Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve has a rich biodiversity and is one of the oldest and largest tiger reserves in the state of Maharashtra.

Bandhavgarh National Park  Madhya Pradesh

The park is spread over 100 square kilometres and one can be hopeful to spot a tiger here along with chital deer  sambar deer  barking deer  and wild boar  among others.
