1. Iceland For the past 14 years running, Iceland has been the nation with the highest gender equality in the world. The nation leads the world in giving women political empowerment, having attained more than 90% parity.

2. Norway  Norway has a parity score of 87.9%, which places it second in the world for gender equality. It is still developing and has reached complete educational parity.

3. Finland Finland, which ranks third with a parity score of 86.3%, is still a prominent advocate for gender equality.

4. New Zealand In terms of advancing gender equality, New Zealand has made great progress. The nation closes the gender gap by 85.6%, placing it in fourth place.

5. Sweden Sweden, which came in fifth position with a gender gap closing rate of 81.5%, is a leader in measures that support gender parity in a variety of fields. In addition to performing better academically, women are more likely to be employed and have strong representation in the legislature and government.

6. Germany Germany is ranked sixth, having eliminated the gender gap by 81.5%, and the nation is still working to close the gaps in education, leadership positions, and wages.

7. Nicaragua Nicaragua is ranked seventh with an 81.5 percent reduction in the gender gap. Women's access to education and political engagement have greatly improved.

8. Namibia Namibia, the only African nation in the top 10, is ranked eighth after its gender gap was judged to have shrunk by 80.2%.
