Russia plans to launch a lunar mission this week triggering a race with
India's Chandrayaan-3
Russia hopes to return to the Moon for the first time in nearly
fifty years
For Luna-25 lander's Launch, Soyuz rocket had been assembled at the
Vostochny cosmodrome
The lander weighs around 800 kg will land in
Lunar South pole
The launch from the Vostochny cosmodrome will take place 4 weeks after India sent
Chandrayaan-3
Chandrayaan-3 lunar lander will touch down the pole on
August 23
The craft is slated to embark on a
five-day journey to the Moon
, followed by 5-7 days in lunar orbit
