A global outbreak of a new type of bacterial pneumonia known as  "White Lung Syndrome" has swept through numerous nations.

Children between the ages of three and eight are the most common age group affected by this respiratory condition.

The characteristic white patches on afflicted children's chest X-rays are the source of White Lung Syndrome.

The phrase refers to a group of respiratory diseases that include silica-related disorders, pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis, and acute respiratory distress syndrome.

Acute respiratory distress syndrome: serious lung condition that occurs when fluid builds up in the air sacs in the lungs. This makes it difficult to breathe.

Pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis  is a rare lung disease that is caused by deposits of calcium in the air sacs of the lungs. This can cause shortness of breath, coughing, and chest pain.

Silicosis is a lung disease that is caused by inhaling silica dust. Silicosis can cause shortness of breath, coughing, and chest pain.

White lung syndrome symptoms differ based on the cause, but common signs include shortness of breath, coughing, chest pain, fever, and fatigue.

It can be treated with variety of medications, including corticosteroids, oxygen treatment, antibiotics, and antivirals.
