Hubble Telescope captured a stunning image of the Sombrero galaxy

The Sombrero galaxy is 28 million light-years away in the Virgo cluster's southern edge

NASA shared this image on Instagram

The galaxy was viewed in visible light by Hubble and in infrared by Spitzer

The galaxy is seen nearly edge-on and has a diameter of 50,000 light-years

At its center, there's a black hole around a billion times more massive than the Sun

The image shows red edges, yellow-green rings, and a light blue center

Stars and galaxies are visible in the image

NASA previously shared an image of a distant galaxy with a recent supernova event

These discoveries showcase Hubble's contributions to our understanding of the universe
