Tata Advanced Systems Ltd (TASL) in India has developed the first spy satellite for the armed forces.

The satellite will be launched on a SpaceX rocket by April, providing discreet information to the armed forces.

A ground control center in Bengaluru, in partnership with Satellogic, will guide and process imagery from the satellite.

Imagery from the TASL satellite can be shared with friendly nations.

India previously relied on US companies for spy data, but now aims for self-reliance, especially after conflicts with China.

ISRO launched INSAT-3DS for meteorological studies, improving weather forecasts and natural disaster warnings.

The GSLV rocket used for the T-3DS launch has a mixed performance record.
