CE20 E13 engine hot test for the Gaganyaan qualification and 22-tonne thrust qualification was successfully finished by ISRO
At ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC), Mahendragiri, the engine created by Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC), Valiamala, underwent testing
The upper stage (C25) of the LVM3 vehicle is propelled by the CE20 engine, which is an essential part of the Cryogenic Upper Stage (CUS)
It has successfully completed six consecutive LVM3 flights, including the Chandrayaan-2, Chandrayaan-3 etc.
ISRO is updating the CE20 engine to increase the LVM3 vehicle's payload capacity
First step toward obtaining a 22-tonne thrust capability was taken with the success of the 50-second engine tuning test E13 HT-01.
This test was carried out on September 22, 2023 at the IPRC, Mahendragiri's state-of-the-art testing facility
The testing facility and the engine both worked smoothly and met all performance standards
With the successful completion of E13 HT-03, extensive testing has been completed, and the CE20 engine is now prepared for the Gaganyaan program
