Cervical cancer is the growth of cells that starts in the cervix. cervix is the lower part of the uterus that connects to the vagina.

According to the National Cancer Institute, long-lasting (persistent) infection with high-risk types of human papillomavirus (HPV) causes virtually all cervical cancers.

Causes

Here are the symptoms of cervical cancer

Symptoms

Bleeding from vagina after intercoure, in between periods or following menopause.

Vaginal bleeding

Periods that are heavier or longer than usual.

Heavy periods

Vaginal discharge that is watery and has a strong odor, or that contains blood.

Unusual vaginal discharge

Pelvic pain or pain during intercourse

Cervical cancer is highly preventable and curable if diagnosed in early stages.
