All six entrances in the new Parliament building have animal names
These animals symbolize many facets of the Parliament, which speaks for 140 crore Indians
Each of the six doors features a sculpture of animal after which it is named
Gaja Dwar Elephant which stands for intelligence, memory, wealth, and wisdom, is the inspiration for the name Gaja Dwar. They are supposedly praised to provide prosperity and happiness in accordance with vaastu shastra
Ashwa Dwar The horse's name is Ashwa Dwar. A horse represents the strength, courage, and power that are desirable in leaders
Garuda Garuda is thought to be Lord Vishnu's steed. Garuda is a representation of strength and dharma
Makara Dwar The mythical sea creature is a hybrid of several animals, is the inspiration for name Makara Dwar
Shardula The fifth gate bears the name of Shardula, a mythical beast with lion's body and an animal, bird, or elephant's head
Hamsa Dwar Saraswati, rides on Hamsa. The Hamsa sculpture on the Parliament's gate is representation of wisdom and self-realization
