Israel-Hamas war: Misinformation flooding social media know the facts

 Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the president of Turkey, has vowed to become involved in the most recent Israel-Hamas conflict.

CLAIM:

The president, a conservative Muslim, has not made any such statements. He recently published a post on social media concerning the ongoing war, which has been misquoted.

THE FACTS:

In an Arabic-language social media post, the Israeli military acknowledged that it had struck a hospital in Gaza.

CLAIM:

A Facebook post purporting to be from an Israeli military account is depicted in a screenshot that has been making the rounds online. There isn't a single similar post on the military's official social media accounts.

THE FACTS:

 In a video, the emir of Qatar threatens to cut off natural gas supplies to the entire world if Israel doesn't stop attacking Gaza.

CLAIM:

In the much shared video, which is older than six years, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the ruling emir of Qatar, makes no such claim.

THE FACTS:

A teenage actor is shown in a video being videotaped lying in a fake blood puddle, demonstrating the creation of propaganda for the Israel-Hamas conflict.

CLAIM:

 The video is behind-the-scenes footage from the making of “Empty Place,” a short film focused on the story of Ahmad Manasra, a Palestinian who was arrested at age 13 in 2015

THE FACTS:

 During the group's unexpected attack on Israel on October 7, a video shows Hamas fighters jumping into a sports pitch and then attacking Israeli citizens.

CLAIM:

The sports pitch video, which has been available online since at least September, features parachute jumpers in Cairo, Egypt.
