There isn't a mass-market seven-seater EV available right now. The Mercedes EQB is India's sole seven-seater electric vehicle choice.
Hyundai's Alcazar EV might make a difference in that. Hyundai has not yet provided an update. However the company is developing the Creta EV.
In the seven-seater form of Creta, Alcazar is indispensable. Thus, it makes sense that we would see the Alcazar EV as well if Hyundai is developing the Creta EV.
For the Alcazar EV to have a respectable range, a battery pack of at least 50kWh is required.
The Alcazar EV is expected to have a minimum range of 500 km, however, in practical use, this would only equate to 360–380 km.
A possible power range is 160–170 horsepower.
It would be reasonable to expect the Alcazar EV by the second half of 2025.
The Alcazar EV's price range (on-road, Mumbai) could be between Rs 25 lakh and Rs 30 lakh.
Alcazar EV will compete with the Mahindra XUV700 electric and Tata Harrier EV.
