Blue-green underwater lasers, numerous firefighting systems, underwater swarm drones, autonomous weaponized boat swarms, and small drones are all part of the Indian Navy's most recent indigenous effort, which will be displayed at a big colloquium next week.
At its next innovation and indigenization symposium, Swavlamban 2023, the navy will highlight 75 new technologies to highlight advancements made in several crucial areas over the previous year
As part of the navy's effort to increase self-reliance in the military manufacturing sector, these technologies were selected by the navy
They have been developed by local start-ups and MSMEs or are in the process of doing so
On October 4-5, Swavlamban 2023, the navy's second such symposium, will take place at Bharat Mandapam.
In the presence of PM Modi, the navy pledged to develop 75 technologies at its inaugural event in July 2022.
The defence ministry has given its initial permission, or acceptance of need (AoN), to these top-notch innovations that are being developed into products.
According to India's defence procurement regulations, obtaining an AoN from the defence purchase council is the first stage in purchasing the armed forces' necessary weapons and systems.
Twelve products totaling around Rs. 1,500 crore have received AoN, and permission for additional military hardware worth Rs. 1,500 crore is anticipated in the near future.
