Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the stadium in Varanasi, his Parliamentary constituency
The stadium will cover more than 30 acres in Ganjari, Rajatalab, Uttar Pradesh
The estimated cost of the stadium's development is around ₹450 crore
The stadium's architectural design is inspired by Lord Shiva, featuring crescent-shaped roof covers, trident-shaped floodlights, ghat steps-based seating, and Bilvipatra-shaped metallic sheets on the facade
It will have a seating capacity for approximately 30,000 spectators
The spectators' gallery will resemble the steps of the ghats of Varanasi, incorporating the city's cultural elements
The stadium is expected to be completed and ready for use by December 2025
Once completed, it will be Uttar Pradesh's third international cricket stadium, joining the ranks of Kanpur and Lucknow
The stadium's location in Varanasi holds significance as it is Prime Minister Modi's Parliamentary constituency
