Constitution  Day in India is celebrated on November 26 each year to commemorate the adoption of the Indian Constitution. Dr. B.R Ambedkar played a pivotal role in the drafting of the Constitution of India.

Facts About Dr. B.R. Ambedkar

Dr. B.R Ambedkar was the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. As the chairman of the Drafting Committee, he played a key role in shaping the Constitution, which came into effect on January 26,1950.

After India gained independence in 1947, B.R. Ambedkar became the country's first Law Minister. In this capacity, he was instrumental in drafting various laws and reforms  to address social and economic issues.

Dr. Ambedkar was appointed as the chairman of the Drafting Committee of the Constituent Assembly was responsible for preparing the draft of the new constitution.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's contributions to the field of law, social justice, and constitution-making have been recognized internationally. He was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, in 1990.

Ambedkar's birthday, April 14, is celebrated as Ambedkar Jayanti in India. On this day, various events and programs are organized to honor his contributions to the nation.
