With its impending 7-seater SUV, Maruti Suzuki is preparing to enter the premium market
New model, codenamed Y17, will be a direct competitor to the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and Hyundai Alcazar.
It is slated to arrive by 2025.
As per reports, Maruti’s 7-seater SUV will be built on Suzuki’s Global C platform, the same as the Grand Vitara.
The powertrain options are expected to be identical to the Grand Vitara as well, consisting of two options – the 1.5L strong-hybrid petrol engine and the 1.5L mild-hybrid petrol engine.
Vehicle might come equipped with high-end features, including large sunroof, a new SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control.
It comes with ventilated seats, steering-mounted controls, and digital instrument console.
Additional luxuries may include auto-dimming IRVMs, captain seats in the second row, etc.
