Six contestants of Miss Universe Indonesia pageant have filed complaints accusing organizers of sexual harassment.

The Indonesian contestants allege that they were subjected to topless "body checks" during physical examinations.

Police have confirmed that they will investigate the complaints filed by the contestants.

Organizers asked five contestants to strip down to their underwear in a room with more than 20 people, including men.

The contestants were reportedly photographed topless during these checks.

The lawyer representing the contestants, Mellisa Anggraeni, stated that such checks were unnecessary.

A total of six contestants have lodged complaints regarding the alleged harassment.

The Miss Universe Organization issued a statement acknowledging the allegations and expressing a commitment to investigating the matter.

One complainant described being asked to pose inappropriately, including opening her legs.

Religious groups in Indonesia have historically objected to beauty pageants due to cultural and religious reasons.
