It is expected that snow would hit Himachal Pradesh, one of the most popular winter travel destinations, earlier this year.

The meteorological dept. declared an early start to winter in Himachal Pradesh due to new snowfall in high-altitude regions

Early in the morning, snow fell on the Churdhar ranges in Sirmaur, the Rohtang Pass and Jalori Pass in Kullu, Hatu Peak, and Chanshal in Shimla.

In the nearby valley areas, the early snowfall has brought on wintry conditions.

The area was blanketed in a layer of white snow following the season's first snowfall.

This season's first snowfall fell in the Atal Tunnel in Rohtang and Marhi in Manali

The area will get further rain till Tuesday, and there was a chance of light snowfall in the higher elevations of Lahaul, Spiti, Kinnaur, Shimla, Kullu, and Mandi.

Due to dense clouds over the sky, significant rain, lightning, and poor visibility, people in Shimla and Solan suffered on Monday.

The most recent data shows that Dalhousie had 72 mm of rain, Chuari 36 mm, Shimla 27 mm, and Chamba 25 mm.
