Chandrayaan-3 surprises ISRO with unplanned ‘hop experiment’ on Moon

The Vikram lander stunned ISRO with its successful "hop experiment," which implies that the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft once more made an unplanned command landing on the Moon after completing all of its mission goals there.

Future moon missions may have additional opportunities thanks to the "hop experiment."

The main difficulty for "Vikram and Pragyan" was to resume their mission after surviving the icy -200 degrees Celsius.

The modules were thought to be capable of reviving and continuing their mission to transmit data from the moon for the following fourteen days if the onboard instruments managed to withstand the cold temperature on the moon.

The Vikram Lander and the Pragyan rover performed different sets of tasks on the lunar surface after landing.

Pragyan covered a distance of more than 100 metres (330 feet), verifying the moon's presence of sulphur, iron, oxygen, and other elements.

The Chandrayaan-3 rover and lander modules were placed to sleep after conducting experiments on the moon from August 23 to September 4

On August 23, India's Vikram  lander successfully accomplished a key goal of the Chandrayaan-3 mission by soft-landing on the lunar surface.
