Golden Temple celebrates 419th  Guru Granth Sahib installation anniversary

On Saturday, thousands of  Sikh followers took part in  the religious march to commemorate the 419th anniversary of the Guru  Granth Sahib's installation

Sikh worshippers took part in the procession to carry the  Guru Granth Sahib on a golden palanquin. This event is observed by Sikhs as  Parkash Utsav of the  sacred book

Numerous ceremonies of all  kinds are held to mark the anniversary. During an  event-related "nagar kirtan, " the Sikh youngsters  perform Gatka

 All along the procession,  the devotees pay obeisance to the scripture, an  impressive 'langar'

A large number of devotees  show out to take part in the procession to bring the  sacred Sikh text to the  Golden Temple as they  pay their respects
