WhatsApp has announced the rollout of instant video messages

The feature allows users of the popular instant messaging app to create and share videos directly in chats

Mark Zuckerberg introduced the feature on his Instagram channel, followed by a video on how it will work

The rollout of video messages has started on both Android and Apple iOS platforms

Video messages can be up to 60 seconds long

Video messages can be sent using the same button that WhatsApp users are already using to send voice messages

Users can also send voice selfie videos

There's also a swipe-up feature that allows users to record hands-free videos

Just like WhatsApp chats, video messages too are end-to-end encrypted
