Choose Safe Colors Opt for pet-safe or natural alternatives like turmeric or beetroot powder instead of harmful chemical-laden colors that can be toxic to pets if ingested or inhaled.
Keep Them Indoors Ensure your pets are indoors in a quiet, secure room during the festivities to avoid stress from loud noises, water balloons, and rowdy crowds.
Shield Their Eyes and Ears If your pet is outdoors, consider using pet-safe goggles to shield their eyes from color splashes or water balloons. Play soothing music to drown out loud noises.
Secure the Environment Close gates, fences, and doors securely to prevent pets from escaping due to loud noises or unfamiliar activities outside.
Watch Out for Harmful Foods Keep Holi sweets and snacks out of reach as many can be harmful to pets. Chocolate, raisins, and sweets with artificial sweeteners like xylitol are toxic to animals.
Stay Vigilant Near Water Keep a close eye on pets near water bodies to prevent accidental falls into ponds, lakes, or swimming pools during Holi celebrations.
Respect Boundaries Avoid forcing pets into activities they're uncomfortable with, including applying colors. Let them enjoy the festival at their own pace.
Provide a Safe Retreat Create a safe space within your home with their favorite toys, bedding, and water where pets can retreat if they feel overwhelmed or frightened.
Monitor for Allergic Reactions Watch for signs of allergic reactions such as excessive itching or skin irritation if pets come in contact with Holi colors or substances.
