The 2024 general election for 543 Lok Sabha seats will be held in seven phases that will begin on April 19 and continue till June

The results of the election will be announced on June 4.

Simultaneous elections for Lok Sabha and assembly will be held in four states -- Sikkim, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh.

Jammu and Kashmir, which has been under President's Rule since 2018, was not on the list.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his delight over the announcement of the election dates through a post on social media platform X. In his message, he stated, “The biggest festival of democracy has arrived.”

The Lok Sabha elections held in 2019 were conducted in seven phases, with the Election Commission announcing the dates on March 10 of that year.

As the season of elections dawns upon the world's largest democratic nation, the anticipation of who will emerge victorious intensifies. Will it be the BJP-NDA alliance led by Prime Minister Modi, or will the I.N.D.I.A bloc, comprising various leaders uniting against one individual, seize the victory this time?
