Manohar Lal Khattar was born in Nindana village in the Rohtak district of Haryana on May 5, 1954, as per the official website of the Chief Minister Office Haryana.
He attended the Neki Ram Sharma Government College in Rohtak to continue his further studies. He was the first person in his family to go beyond Class X in their academic pursuits.
In 1977, at the age of 24, he joined the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS) permanently. Before 1944, when he joined the Bhartiya Janta Party, he devoted his 17 years to the RSS.
His contribution to the BJP's triumph in states like Punjab, Haryana, and Chhattisgarh was significant.
He was the first chief minister of Haryana to be appointed by the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) following his victory in the 2014 Assembly elections from the Karnal constituency.
Khattar was chosen to lead the BJP Legislative Party on October 21, 2014.
