With a margin of 71,368 votes, BJP candidate and Rajsamand MP Diya Kumari defeated Congressman Sitaram Agarwal for the assembly seat in Rajasthan's Vidhyadhar Nagar.

The performance of the saffron party in the assembly was attributed by her to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Prime Minister Modi, Amit Shah ji, JP Nadda ji, state leaders, and party workers deserve all the credit for this victory. Not only did Modi ji's magic work in MP and Chhattisgarh, but also in Rajasthan."

Diya Kumari, the granddaughter of Jaipur's former maharaja, Man Singh II, became a member of the BJP in 2013

Who is Diya Kumari?

In the 2013 elections, she defeated Kirodi Lal Meena to win a seat in the Rajasthan assembly from Sawai Madhopur.

She won by a margin of 5.51 lakh votes from the Rajsamand constituency in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, allowing her to join the legislature.

She ran for office in this election using the slogans "princess who walks on the streets" and "daughter of Jaipur" to win votes.

The election commission's most recent trends showed that the saffron party was ahead in three of the four states.

In Rajasthan, the BJP's candidates led in 114 seats, while the Congress led in 71, according to the ECI. This marked the party's halfway point in the polls.

Meanwhile, in Chhattisgarh, the saffron camp was forging ahead in 53 of the 90 assembly seats, while the grand old party led in 34 seats.
