During festive season, trains witnessed passengers struggling to get to train coaches due to long waiting lists in the reserved classes.

To end this issue Indian railways has come up with a superb plan.

Indian Railways is planning to add 3,000 more passenger trains to its network in the next 5 years to eliminate waiting lists for tickets.

3,000 trains are to be added to the existing trains by 2027 which means waiting lists will be ended by then.

The Indian Railways has increased its passenger train operations from 10,186 in the pre-Covid era to 10,747 trains per day.

As per the Indian Railways source, the aim is to increase the train operations to 13,0000 per day.

Indian Railways is also planning to upgrade its passenger train's coach system.

The old coach-based system in trains, where coaches are attached to one another, will be replaced by one 'seamless train' of 22 coaches.

The new configuration will be called a 'tain set' of 22 coaches.
