The Indian passenger vehicle market as a whole flourished ahead of the country's holiday season, and many automakers enjoyed a surge in sales. Here, we examine the top ten automobiles that were sold in India in October 2023.
Best-selling vehicles for October 2023
In October 2023, the Maruti Suzuki WagonR was the best-selling automobile in India, selling 22,080 units, a 23.04 percent increase over the 17,945 units sold in the same month the previous year.

The most popular SUV in October was the newly updated Tata Nexon, which sold 16,887 units, a 22.66 percent increase over the 13,767 units sold during the same period previous year.

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno managed to hold the fourth position among the best-selling cars in October, albeit with a minor drop in sales. Compared to 17,149 units sold in October 2022, the model's sales during the month were 16,694 units, a modest decrease of 3.2%.

In October 2023, sales of the Brezza SUV increased significantly by 61.45 percent to 16,594 units. In comparison, 9,941 units of the model were sold in the same month the previous year.

Due to the shift in consumer preferences toward SUVs, the Punch, another Tata vehicle, came in sixth place on the list with 15,317 units sold in October 2023. 10,982 units of the model were sold by Tata Motors at the same time previous year.

Next, with 14,699 sold in October 2023, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire took seventh place on the list. When compared to the 12,321 units sold in the same month the previous year, the model saw significant growth."

"The business observed that sales of Mahindra's Scorpio model virtually doubled, making it the best-selling model in the company's lineup. Compared to 7,438 units sold in the same month the previous year, 13,578 units were sold in October 2023."

With 13,077 units sold in the month, the well-liked Hyundai Creta SUV completed the top 10. The South Korean firm sold 11,880 units over the same period last year.
